ABOUT THE RESEARCHER:

Elsie Weisshaar

Having grown up in rural NE Oregon, I have a deep appreciation for all things to do with water.   After more than 20 years in the horse industry as a trainer-instructor and farm operations/business manager, concerns regarding developing water resource issues prompted me to return to school.  I am currently a candidate for an M.S. degree in Biological and Ecological Engineering with water resource issues as my primary focus of study, and I hope to work as a “creative engineer,” finding new solutions for emergent water resource problems.

Please take some time to explore my blog, read something interesting, and feel free to reach out if you would like to collaborate on a project together.

Current Specific Research Interests:

~> Treating agricultural runoff with Denitrifying Woodchip Bioreactors

~> Watershed scale analysis of non-point-source nutrient pollution utilizing remote sensing (satellite) data
